Recorded and mixed at Rich Bitch Studios, Birmingham between August 1986 (tracks CD-1 to CD-12) and May 1987 (tracks CD-13 to CD-28).

Tracks 8 and 9 suffer from the apparently poor condition of the original master tape with track 8 slightly fluctuating in pitch/speed throughout and track 9 rapidly speeding up halfway through the song for a few seconds.

DVD video side 'The Scum Story' contain 45 minute documentary film featuring indepth interview with Mick Harris as he re-visits the legendary Mermaid venue & Rich Bitch Studios. He and others talk about the formative period of the band around the recording of the album that birthed the grindcore scene - SCUM.
