Crazy
This collection of songs is to be, simply as that,And not to be analyzed to death - that what they do when they do archaelogical things & or do a high-tech sugery !That's what me thinks. If you go for this, keep in mind that there are much worse things to splash your cash on !And, by the way, VINYL is the way to go !!!

Sitting in my listening chair I was actually focused on my speakers as the song “Alphaville” drifted from my stereo, ready to push the stop button, yet like some traffic accident off to the side of the road, I sat there glued to the blue light of my McIntosh amplifier, shaking my head, then laughed right out loud as an image of Tiny Tim momentarily danced through my field of vision like some long lost memory of a bygone time. I was determined to let this manifestation play out in order to try and make sense of the unbelievable, the unthinkable, yet by the time the soft-shoe jazzy version of “Sign of the Times,” complete with bouncy horns and tinkling piano notes shifted into gear, I was wondering if I really wished to venture further down this rabbit hole with one of my cult heroes seeming to have stepped right out of The Great Gatsby, unrecognized, out of time, displaced and out of step with anything I could have envisioned, now seeming to be part of an actual Betty Boop cartoon come to life, with Bryan Ferry dancing to these tones in front of me, complete with long rubbery arms and legs along with a mouth that opened far too wide as he sang … and of course Cab Calloway completed this hallucinogenic adventure, leading his orchestra through their paces in my personal adult’s only black & white cartoon from sometime before I was born. The only descriptive word that came to mind as “Dance Away” engulfed me was ‘debonair,’ though certainly not in a good way. Nevertheless, here I am sitting in front of my stereo thinking that this shuffle of tunes is beginning to make sense, to connect with me, yet perhaps I was only drowning, where a lack of oxygen was affecting my thought process, leaving me wishing that a hand would reach down and pluck me from these waters, to save my soul, but alas, there was no hope for me, I was sinking further. “Zamba” was now dramatically filtering its way through the blue-green waters of my thought process, where by the time “Sea Breezes” reached my ears, even the surface light was disappearing from view, leaving me drifting, lost in some in delusional dream where even the fish swimming by were animated, clams and walruses were chorus-line dancing to “While My Heart Is Still Beating,” and I could feel myself smiling, enjoying the show being played out before me.Then, just as I was about to take my place in that chorus line dance, just as “Bitter Ends” was causing my toes to tap, a hand from the surface did reach down, grabbed me by the collar, pulled me to a raft where I laid face down, slightly aware of the bobbing waters lapping against the sides and the beach not so far off in the hazed distance. The cool offshore breeze felt good on my skin with the sun slowly baking me dry.Unexpectedly, as happens with all worthy hallucinations, I was back where I began this adventure, alone in front of my stereo, bathed in those soothing blue lights, aware that the only thing responsible for the saving of my mortal being was that disembodied hand, a hand that managed to press the stop button on my remote before just “Chance Meeting” could finish, before “Boys and Girls” would gently wander through my head … leaving me to realize that not all journeys, even ones with Bryan Ferry and his nostalgic late night orchestra are worth taking.*** In All Honesty: The Bryan Ferry Orchestra, is a retro-jazz outfit that plays solely in a 1920’s jazz style, having provided music for The “Great Gatsby” and the Netflix series “Babylon Berlin,” with Bitter-Sweet being their second album and is inspired by the TV series, aiming to evoke the 1920’s jazz era while injecting some zing into some classic Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music tracks.

Hi streetmouse, your out-of-body experience (in a good way) seems out of kilter with a 2 star rating. Was the pressing or recording quality not up to snuff?
