A top quality hypnotic groove... early Rupert's work is some of his very best, and this record is just one example! Brilliant!

One of photek's finest moments and a firm fave with Fabio and LTJ.

I first heard these tunes on a mix tape by a guy called DJ Andre who I believe was from Tamworth. The tape was amazing and I've been in love with these ever since. Heavy vibes is an amen tune, similar in style to much of Photek's output of the time, with a very anthemic feel. What sets this tune apart for me is the way he uses vocals to build tension as the drop progresses. Pulse of Life is, for me, one of the quintessential tunes of the deep Drum and Bass sound. It features a pulsing synth sequence, the deepest of pads and a beat that is so understated that the tune just drifts. Whilst this tune doesn't ever seem to get mentioned too much by Photek buffs,it will be instantly recognisable to many. A classic of the genre.

This is one of my favourite Photek records, and this review is ridiculously spot on! Nice one ;)
