This one, albeit not really loud, sounded a bit over-compressed all the same when I checked this out. And so, my audio editor proved me right because it showed clearly that they used a very questionable technique to "remaster" this classic. They simply compressed the stuff to the max (a method known from 2005+ releases), in order to satisfy the younger audience, most of them being loudness enthusiasts (they're so used to this over-compressed sound that they will think ANYTHING mastered the good old sensible way sounds awful). But in the end, they simply decreased the peak of the whole audio by lots of dBs again! That's foolish. Because at any rate, by the previous operation, the greatest part of the original wide dynamic range WAS already DESTROYED - as usual. Decreasing the volume will never give back this range: it is lost for good.---Here you can see how the opening track on the flip side looks graphically: http://oi58.tinypic.com/yezs.jpg

Thank you for making the awful mastering of the digital era a more commonly known mystery ...it realy is horrendous what some of these "REMASTERED" reissues sound like and simply does not do the actual FUN you can have with FUNK music ANY JUSTICE and maybe left a rarity before fooling people into thinking they can have a piece of history for 20 bux.... pay respect to the originators and originals ... peace Valentino 45
