A minor departure for Nathan Fake, whose sound still shines through the almost beat-less, footwork-ish, often-beautiful record. Fans of Plaid's last couple of releases, as well as the likes of Four Tet, Boards of Canada, The Orb, Earthen Sea and Vessel will be pleased. Could use a bit more momentum, but overall a must for connoisseurs of IDM. Standouts: Prurient's mumblings on "Degreelessness", the twisted-electric guitar of "SmallCityLights" & "RVK", which gets punctured by Raphaelle's searing vocal unexpectedly, at the halfway mark.
