First off I'd like to say that in the past year this album has earned itself a special place in my heart since accompanying me in my senior year of high school. A friend had recommended this album to me when I asked for some great 2016 releases; I don't recall what possesed me to give this a listen considering I actually hadn't heard any Moby prior. The music interested me, but the political side greatly intrigued me. While I don't 100% side with a lot of what he stands for, I greatly admire the passion he's put in the promotion and performances. When I fully realized this, it was like I was hearing Never Mind the Bollocks for the first time. So since I graduated and my dad finally got me a turntable as a present, I've always wanted a vinyl copy of this album. Not that the loudness war production on the CD bothered me too much (which is a bit surprising considering how much clipping and brickwalling usually bothers me) but since watching the music video for Are You Lost...? I wanted to hear the songs on the album that had great dynamics but still retained the fury that makes these songs so potent. This vinyl is just that making that 3 DB avg go down a wopping seven for a 10 DB avg. This is the wavelengths of the opener Hey!Hey! for reference: https://s1.postimg.org/csy6pr75b/image.jpgThe CD is pretty much perfect for me when driving around (particularly at night) but considering how much clearer the songs sound and how much easier this would be on my ears, this would be my preferred way of listening to the album on my phone, at home, etc. My only nitpick is the fact that the 3 bonus tracks aren't on the vinyl and The Nighttime is my favorite on the album while the other two are also some of the best in my opinion. Still, this is a beautiful album that sadly seems to be dismissed just because some fans are getting a punk rock album rather than some chill techno/downtempo that they're used to getting.

I bought the deluxe CD last year before purchasing the vinyl recently :)

Yeah, but the three bonus tracks are included on the download card that comes with the lp. Or just buy both like I did.

Having made almost all of moby's discography part of the soundtrack to my life I struggled to aurally cope with this album as a whole. Moby, having become a mouthpiece of the NWO controlled Clinton campaign for president in 2016 used his famity as a platform to more denigrate Trump than promote Clinton (she is a cold blooded murdering tool after all). And hence we have this wall of vexated sound as a whole album (and then some) of literally unlistenable, unoriginal, anger de-spiring music with moby yelling words to each track up against this litany which are naturally, given the sad state of mis-affaires here, are mostly ununderstandable vitriol yelled like a moody teenager, each word seemingly another pimple popped stemming any creating flow to null that this album could ever have provided. Basically the whole thing is so bad that you cannot see the forest for the trees: the "music" is so negative and loud, even turned down, that it is unlistenable and unhearable for all of the feedback which even manages to even mute and cover the crappy ever popping drum kit making the whole miscarriage unapproachable to try to take in as a project. Moby has reams of talent as a musician. His albums have hitherto been a delight to approach, get to know, make friends with and rejoin as a party to anyone's life soundtrack. Sadly «These Systems Are Failing» is non of any of these. The only thing that it gets so right is its title, which describes its own sad, angry, misdirected, avoidable self. I await moby's next project with my normal trepidation. After decades of getting so much right, I trust him to do just this next album around despite this litany of over-feedbacked vexating iredom.

This may have seemed a good idea in your head at the time Mr Melville, but it is just not happening at all for me, or probably any long time fan. Having followed your whole career since 1990, some 26 years now I feel I can say with some conviction that all through your incarnations you have amazed, delighted, enthralled even got me through some very traumatic episodes in my life, such is the power of your music. However this project, having listened on several occasions now, has not eased its way and sorry to say I dont think it ever will, without waffling on its like your first relationship, everything is new and exciting, then as time elapses and you get more experienced you move on, and keep moving on some periods being stale others adrenaline fueled, but the one thing you never do is go back! Sure its feels safe and warm to do so, but you moved on for a reason, and unfortunately Moby has regressed to a past whim, with a new slant on it which has ultimately failed as it sounds dated and very tired already, and definitely wont stand the test of time. Animal Rights was lambasted by the majority at the time, but I loved it and still play it regularly, the diversity from previous and post albums was phenomenal, and I feel that this is what he has tried to achieve with this album, but it really has not hit the mark, it does not feel innovative and I cannot connect emotionally with the songs either, so for me it will be resigned to the collection to gather dust, and I will await the next journey.

There is a glitch at 2:25 on track 12 of this deluxe edition. Looks like it was manufactured with this defect across all copies of this first pressing.

Just to confirm, my copy has this defect, too :(
