This is an excellent 4 track affair! I don't know how many were pressed, but all I know is it's quite rare, highly sought after and particularly expensive in today's climate....best thing Lewi Cifer was involved with alongside 'Ricky' with Remarc, 4 killer cuts; possibly made late 1992 as they have more in common with that sound than the later faster 1993 stuff....Crackhead is a jaw-jarring exercise in dark, hypnotic swathing sounds working thru your brain like a Class 'A' drug and inducing moments of pleasure and paranoia simultaneously whilst Morgan's "you smoke crack don't you?!" demanding question is thrown at you accusingly like a moralistic bullet! It's a punishing affair, brutal and unrelenting with sporadic moments of relief with that 'lighter' melody that comes in every now and again The other 3 tracks build on a similar theme; dark and deeper stabs and sounds swirl around big sub basses and builds and drops, solid beat displays and heavy, hard-hitting progressions. The sub bass in "Stupid" is ridiculously wicked, it hits you thru the chest HARD....I didn't have the pleasure of hearing it on a large sound system back then but it would have sounded IMMENSE! Dark Moon is quite similar to Stupid in arrangement and samples, almost like the 2 are remixes or 'alternatives' of each other (?). This Is Where It Takes rounds the quartet out nicely with more laid back pad/Pan-pipey like sounds and strange child-like samples quoting the title.....bit more of a trippy packaging as opposed to darker, more grittier affairs the other 3 possess.Overall though, mega awesome Hardcore/early Jungle stuff, hard to source at an affordable price but for those that must have it, an absolute delight in the collection! Wicked as...!!
