I first heard a track from this record, the Traktor-like "#2", on Claude Young's masterful DJ Kicks mix for K7 records. Back in those prehistoric days before ubiquitous information about everyone, I had no idea who it was! It wasn't until I picked up a copy at Record Time in Detroit (which used to have stacks upon stacks on black-labeled goodies from the Basic Channel posse) and played the record through that I realized Claude had chosen what was not even the best track on this gem! I found another copy a few years later and since then have made good use of them. This is real deal dub techno in all its beauty from Torsten Pröfrock. Warm and staticky but cold and metallic, like all Basic Channel in some way, but all in one record. One of my favorites from their catalogue. Hey Basic Channel, idea for you! Re-master and re-release this on a DOUBLE PACK.

Astonishing metallic soundscapes. 3 is surprisingly warm and inviting while the rest are nice and dark, especially the last 2 tracks.

any difference in quality between US and German pressing?

An incredible 12'' release from the family of 'Chain Reaction'Track 1 gets you off to a great start, adding some 'Electric' and 'Metallic' sound sculptures to a clean 'Minimal' beat that takes you back to the days of minimal 'Dance Floor' techno and 'Listening At Home' techno. The rest of the tracks need no introduction _ they are absolutely 'Brilliant' !!!They just don't make 'Minimal-Techno' like this anymore !

This is a very nice piece of sculptural sounds. I just get the record ( grey German pressing ) but I find the level of the sound recording badly too low. I really need to push the volume to get a dynamic sound. Bad pressing?
