Notes

Late Night's original version appeared on the man-from-tomorrow's first-ever album Waveform Transmission Vol. 1 (Tresor.11) , but the "Mills Mix" had remained one of Tresor's most infamous "lost tracks" since 1993. The original was remastered in October 2001 by Moritz Von Oswald at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.

Basic Human Design is an instrumental version of "Spider Formation" (from Axis 009), originally found on Waveform Transmission Vol. 3 (Tresor.25) but mastered and cut at D&M Berlin by Moritz Von Oswald.

No idea why people are seemingly confused over the need for and timing of this release. The pressing quality of the PowWow original was absolutely dreadful - it sounds like it's been pressed on a digestive biscuit, just like some of the old Trax and Transmat pressings. So quiet and poorly mastered that it's almost unplayable. That's why they re-mastered and re-released. And if you're going to re-master a track, Moritz Von Oswald is a pretty damn good person to do it.

its one thing if you put out tracks, then make it available after a couple of years packed with a bunch of crappy remixes, but i think 10 years is long enough to respect the legacy and to make it available to newer djs and a different audience. music is meant to be heard, not packed away in an archive, a record box or a closet and i think djs who live and play that way suck. ps, i have the pow-wow record ;)

The Tresor Archiv series continues to roll on, and more skeletons were recently found in the many closets at Tresor HQ. Once missing, but now back in action are Jeff Mills' 'Late Night' mixes from 1993. The original version appeared on the man's debut album 'Waveform Transmission Vol. 1', but his 'Mills mix' remix has remained one of Tresor's most infamous 'lost tracks' since 1993. The b-side, 'Basic Human Design' is actually an instrumental version of 'Spider Formation' (from Axis Records AX-009), originally found on 'Waveform Transmission Vol. 3'.

Yes Detroit i live in Berlin and i play this remix...the original was released 1991 and the late night remix from the label Pow Wow 1993 and was very rare...now this is a rerelease.

Why now? What do they think? That some DJs will play it now? More than 6 years passed since Waveform Volume 1 was released...and Mills's remix of "Late Night" was heard long ago, too... Don't really understand this move... Anyway, I still think that the original mix is the best: Cold Berlin atmosphere, dark deep house bass, simple old rhythm [hat, clap, ride] & late night tech stabs - all that wrapped in one amazing old school techno pattern... This EP needed its place when Waveform 1 was taking over clubs in 1993, 1994...
