I don't see why everyone has a negative opinion about the rap version, how does it not fit?, nothing wrong with it imo, obviously the flip side is the most well known and is superb... electro 5 blah blah, but the vocal is quality in its own right...

As far as classic electro is concerned. The Instrumental mix is all the way up there with some of the best of the best. The edits, the rawness, tough, emotional, ominous. Perfect drum sequence and programming. It's got it all.

I'm not surprised there are no marks of respect here, until now, for Aldo & Amado Marin- producers, editors & label owners of Cutting Records. In addition to the work of Jerry Calliste, Aldo's dub work on this (In addition of course to the Latin Rascals) and so many seminal Cutting releases is about as good as it got, from Nitro Delux to Hashim to The Imperial brothers, but for me, his masterpiece is the instrumental edit of Fantasy III 'It's Your Rock'. I love it as well! It could have had a little more Hashim in it but a great track just the same. The Rap is ,um not fitting but most of the time with the 80's Hip Hop the instrumentals are better anyway. Please. MASTIC

The main reason the instrumental is better than the vocal version [IMO] is cos it's edited [brilliantly] by the Latin Rascals.

Again Mr Calliste combines bone crunching 808 beats with haunting synths to create a beautiful piece of music.Although the vocal mix is great,the Instumental has a really uplifting ethereal feel about it that makes it great.More than 25 years after it's release and I never get bored listening to it.PURE BRILLIANCE.

i too like the instrumental version more than i do the vocal, but that's because i like the sheer perfection of hashim instrumentals...it has his flavour all over it and it's really futuristic...!

Alien

This release continued the conception of Hashim and was produced at his own Cutting label. The instrumental version is complete juice... 808 drums with the bass of the eighties and clean strings above sound really enough. It makes me boogie down... But the vocal version is not so good. The hard rapping can't sound harmonious with such an accurately done piece, I suppose. But it was popular at those times... Street jams, freestyles and so on... The memory remains. Thank you.
