Lovely. Like a slightly weirder, more ungainly precursor to their classic second album "Every Man And Woman Is A Star"...which is exactly what this is. This has pokier, edgier parts and is altogether more eclectic and odd, but it remains very much like its immediate successor in both mood and, to some degree, execution. Honestly, the closest releases I can think of by another artist that are even similar to this in approach and emotional feel are the first few albums by Thomas Dolby, with their subtle, British emotional palette expressed through synthpop, bonky funk, weirdly ernest jazz, and electronic-tinged art rock. I have to say, the versions of "Stella" on here are marvelous. ("Interstellar" in particular ended up turning into the version on "Every Man And Woman Is A Star" with only a few tweaks.) Highly recommended.
