So I conducted a shootout using the repress on black wax rpm 45 and this 1st press. I had 3 different sets of ears and kept the identity of each secret while we all listened. The verdict is this: the 1st press got it right the first time. The balance between the highs and lows are perfect here. While the repress is deeper with more low end, it’s too hot and in need of bass, treble and mid range knob fiddling. The other advantage here is the collectibility factor of a 1st press. So with all of that said, if you collect and love the music, spend the $$ on this press. If you don’t collect and like a bottom end heavy slightly louder mix then get the repress. Or you can own BOTH like me.

This pressing is absolutely blowing my mind. The clarity, the bass, everything is stellar. If anything, it might be a little hot, but a minor treble adjustment helps that. No big deal! Buy this and you will not be sorry. Oh so good! Thank you Omnivore and The Posies.

An excellent sounding and very clean pressing of an incredible album. Very impressed with the clarity on this one. Over the last 25 years I've listened to this album literally hundreds of times on CD, and it was as if brand new to me listening to this pressing. Definitely worth picking up!

I just ordered the standard vinyl (unsigned) from the Pledge Music campaign and it came as Pink. Maybe they are all pink by default?But to second it, this LP sounds Incredible. I know this album WAY to much and I felt like a heard a different, more layered version here.

the Posies are re issuing the DGC albums from the master tapes...Dear 23 and frosting will be mastered at 45 rpm on 2 12 pieces of vinyl...amazing will be 33rpm on 1 piece...I have the d23 reissue the album puts you in a new dynamic sound space...its more alive...I would say more like audio 3D I am waiting for the other 2 also the cd versions of all 3 come with a ton of bonus tracks...frosting will be issued for the first time on vinyl in the us...

Seriously. I get the reissue for 25 pounds at my local store. The Dear 23 reissue sounds amazing: quiet, dynamic, big soundstage. If this one is as good it's a no brainer. Get the reissue!
