I can without doubt say this THE best mix CD that I've bought, CD2 in my opion is better and listening now it still sounds ace!!! It was the soundtrack to my younger years. I for one would have loved to have been there to hear it live, must have been pretty epic. I have seen Nick Warren since and he is a brilliant live DJ. Favourite tracks are The Tempest, Reach for it and of course Anjo Sunrise. In my opinion his best GU Realise ever, and I have all the others!! So complete disagree with your comment.

There are many great tracks, it's just from a mixing perspective the flow is poor and there's no mixing talent in this album. If you view it as a compilation, it's all right, but as a mix CD, it could have been SO much better. Probably his weakest GU release, considering there's not much substance there besides the grossly overplayed tracks Beachball and Cafe Del Mar. Overall it's cheesier than I would have liked.

This mix, as it is described as being live, really sounds that way, as if the output was recorded directly to a dat tape or something, because the decibels are so low on this cd. If I were to pick, I would say that the spirit by aquaplex and seadog by clanger are the best songs on each disk. One thing many critics forget about dj mixes are that the dj's take into account the current mood of the crowd and that the music is played with much larger speakers than the ones equipped with you at home. So remember, the next time you go out to a club, to look at the number of ohms written on the back of a speaker out there and compare that number with what's written on one residing in your home stereo. This will tell you something about the crisp clean sound encountered at home which turns into raunchy & sweaty funkiness at the heaving, pounding dance floor.

This mix has some great tracks on it like "Beachball" and "Life on Mars", however for the most part this mix really shows its ago with some very cheesy songs like "Boom" and "Cut the Midrange" and Nick frequently seems like he doesn't know where he's going with this one. 2 out of 5.
