This is a pretty interesting, yet overlooked release. Basically, it sounds like a less aggressive and hard blend of Umek's old synthetic techno releases on Consumer Recreation, and his electro induced Zeta Reticula releases. A more moderate interpretation of Slovenia's finest psychedelic and whacked out sound of days long time gone. Alex Long delivers four similar tracks, all of which are much slower than the aforementioned artist's older output, but he graces them all with plenty 'electrocuted' passages and sequences which give the tracks that something extra apart from the bass line, the percussion and the occasional click-clack ornament. Not original by the long run, this is above all an adequate tool, which actually sounds better than approximately 80% of the stuff you get to hear on the dance floors today. It's nothing you'll get massive props for dropping, but those electro-ish lines, and the good ol' filter sweep and resonator trick will just about come in handy. Favorite track is Atropol, as it has this great "this is cocaine speaking" sample. Pitch it up and it turns into a vintage hardcore bomb, where the sample sounds like in the good old days - helium style... Do check it out if you'd like something in your sets not everyone has, but don't expect to ignite a revolution. Overall, this is a nice surprise, a release from Slovenia, which is actually good, and it doesn't have the names Kanzyani or Umek written on it. Good job!
