This was the fourth record I made. I hired time in a small studio in Reading close to my shop 'The Record Basement', with an engineer called, Steve Turvey. Steve loved Rock Music but used to wear a leather jacket and Mc Hammer trousers, seriously, so I called him 'Van Hammer'. It was a traditional reel to reel studio, which presented us with a stack of problems, as I wanted to take loads of long samples from lots of tunes and blend them all together and play & programme with drums, bongoes and bass' like in the 'Marrs' classic, 'Pump Up The Volume'. This is why the production was poor on this release as the limitations of taken long samples were exposed. The EP took a lot of sessions over a three month period to complete. As I had been ripped on my first three releases I decided to launch my own label "Basement Records".The first three Basement Tunes were all promo'ed together and received high praise in the press and the label was especially noted by Kris Needs at 'Black Echoes', who said this label was not just another rave label but had something unique about it,so as a Soul Boy, I was really pleased. At the time the track was picked up and played by DJ Sasha and used as an opening track in some of his sets, which really pleased me.

It seems to me this track (I mean part 1 and 3 alike) is a mixture of several..am I wrong? If that's the case can anybody tell me what these tracks are?
