This release sounds incredible when compared to the original (I have a '88 UK copy). Much heavier and beefed up sound overall. I wonder if it was remastered?

The sound quality good not excellent but i believe this is due to the original recording not the pressing you know? during the mixing/mastering? That being said the lps are nice on the clear tbh i still haven't listened to the bonus material on mine, the album is good though if you have an eq in your receiver or a seperate EQ deck you may want to cut the treble a little the cymbal hits and guitars sound a little staticy until cutting the treble and bring the bass up slightly when playing it. If you have no way of altering the mix with EQ, or if you are not a fan of raw old school sounding production this album may not be for you, just letting you know what to expect. If you have EQ it's golden a most excellent album and definitely worth the investment.

The pressing is outstanding very quiet. The studio recording are great!! The second Lp with the live recording is not worth being on this release. Not really even worth listening to and I'm a die hard fan.

This album was produced by Dan Johnson, NOT Scott Burns. Scott Burns was only the engineer. Get this right in the introduction, will you? And get over Scott Burns, he's very good, done many classic albums, BUT still THE HEAVIEST DEATH METAL PRODUCTION OF ALL TIMES belongs to Dan Johnson on Leprosy. Amen.

This UK pressing on CD or original US CD or record is the one to get. The recent reissue sounds horrible too loud and compressed.

1 addition is that Some/Mine also include a gold "Loaned for Promotion Only. Not for Sale" Stamp over part of the Barcode. A truly Legendary & Classic Beast(!!),but of course you know this! Loved their music since 1st Tape Trades for copies of the Death&MantasDemos & Rehearsals in 1984 & 85! It appears my M- -/M-(Looks M)of this LP is Rare for Quality. As well as M Cover for US Combat S.B.G. & M-/M- US Combat S.H.(also has the Gold Promo Stamp,but that seems more prevalent with this one)! Same with the Early Bathory's,Etc....!! Why? I Guess Many People Abused Their's After Breaking the Seal...? Not bragging about this Quality Stuff,it's just an Observation,is All. Seems Weird to Me. Legendary Death Metal Album(& Band,of course,on All,&Later Stuff Added More Talented Technicality,Too,Though Always Talent)! All Great,R.I.P., Chuck. Saw Show AND *Hung out with Him on *This *Tour on My Birthday, Where The Concert Attendance Was Right Around **14 !! **People!!?!!...!!??!!... All Were At *Another Boston Thrash Show That*Same Night, *I Left Early To Catch The Death Set!!! (+ 2 Other Death Concerts=3,Only Hung That 1). Good Times!

No extra bonus materials of color box are included in my clear box, too. Even the white sticker on the color box is not there on the clear box.

@Doomguy-id, There was a source. I will look it up. Relapse openly admitted that Spiritual Healing and Leprosy vinyl reissues were flat CD transfers. Only good reissue in the recent years is Symbolic by Metal Blade.I mean, Relapse is known in the vinyl community for this practice for years. As for Leprosy CD's, they are all DR9 or DR10, except the Century Media version, which is DR6. It really doesn't matter, since it's still a Digital CD mastering instead of analog. You can get the original pressing of Leprosy dirt cheap in NM state from time to time on Discogs.

@izzy6, do you have a source for this claim? Apparently this record is DR10 (source: http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/68981 ) and I just measured my CD myself and it's DR6. I went for the CD versions because I heard the vinyl was no good, but now I'm wondering if I've been had by misinformation...

Alan Douches did the mastering for the CD, and the etched that CD sound to this LP. All Death/Relapse LP's are CD masters on Vinyl.

Crystal clear sounding record, just wish it was a bit quieter, most of Relapse's reissues tend to be far louder than needed. It feels kinda cheap though that the original pressing came on a gatefold and this just has the gatefold as an insert. It doesn't bother much, and the record is a nice thick pressing too.
