What we are served here are two slabs of super-melodic hard trance. Alive and Kickin' is run by an almost SIDish squarewave pad melody, underpinned by beutiful ethereal sighs in the breaks - which by the way incorporate some breakbeats to liven up the 4/4. Summer of '94 features an incredibly nice lead layered up with several instruments - it starts out with something like a reverbed harp and gradually shifts over to a hard synth. The breakdowns are exquisitely crafted and timed to maximum effect - both tracks are supreme vehicles for the genuine euphoric hands-in-the-air experience... Heck, I even get tears in my eyes when I SPIN these :) Let me just end by saying this is one of my absolute favorite records, among my top 10 without doubt; and one of the best hardtrance releases ever in my eyes. Buy it!
