There is something unequivocally pastoral in the Beta Band’s music – something gently atmospheric and pleasantly psychedelic. Generally speaking it’s a rural rock in its epitomized form. I don’t know why but when I’m listening to this copious album I almost always think of Jethro Tull though these bands have little, if anything, in common probably their music creates a similar psychic atmosphere. “Dr. Baker phoned me again later that day said he cried and he really sounded out of it his wife was dead and his dog was dead and misery planned inside his head”. The third and the first parts of this collection I like best.
