Lunar Asylum are not one of the more fancied and famous Goa trance acts, and for sure their sound is rather straightforward, even simple, but their formula is a grower and somehow I don't get sick of it. There are strong elements of acid techno in their music, which at one level is just about dancefloor mayhem ala Green Nuns of the Revolution. Nevertheless, the tracks are so well structured that they go beyond the dancefloor into the dark arenas of drone: deep trance via repetition and slight variation. I may be alone in liking this music, but there is something exotically delicious in the midst of this apparent naivety. A bindi with your mid-nineties rave sir? Why not? ~*~
