I loved Annihilating Rhythm back on 94/95 mainly cause of the sheer range of beats and tempos throughout & I wish more techno artists would mix up their tempos but they are few and far between, Wayne G did it with Twisted and on the psy side Shpongle are daring enough to alter their tempos so this tracks is important for that reason alone. the 2nd half of this track is the best & I personally witnessed hardcore dancefloor frenzy when this was dropped

this is bloody mental :D . . . . . .

Without a doubt the best US release. I remember hearing this for the first time at Hanger 13 and being utterly blown away. Contrary to popular belief and some of the reviews / comments on discogs, none of the "live" tracks were recorded live at events (apart from the live album - Live at Club Kinetic). They were all recorded at Apollo studios, with the exception of Annihilating Rhythm which Mallorca and Rodger produced themselves

Ultrasonic had the debut of Annihilating rhythm at the Rezerection Event outdoor party at Ingleston,Edinburgh and being one of the many ravers in the crowd for this tune holds very special memories for me. Not sure if this has the original crowd sound from that night but a lot of Ultrasonics releases were recorded live at clubs and I still remember the quotes from Mallorca Lee too! Still an amazing record to this day.

From the hardcore era this is one of the most wellknown, played, listened to records of all time. It is still fresh today because of the fact that it 'sounds' live. This has been thrashed from every well known DJ and I think became the Scotland national anthem between 1993-1999. It is brilliantly produced and and well thought out with all genres of the time contained within. It has hardcore, jungle, drum n bass, techno, italipiano. The list goes on. And of course Mallorca Lee MCing over the top of it. Staying On The Edge. C'Ya

Cheesy? Yes. Ass-kicking? Yes. Starts with a standard breakbeat and horsey-horsey bassline, then drops. Enter a piano and then a slowed breakbeat which gets faster and faster until it all ass-kicks back in again and the crowd go mental! Reminds me of the Ritzy in Newcastle circa '94.

The track from which the whacky technopop band Scooter stole their "Hyper, Hyper" idea from... Nevertheless this is a really asskicking track !
