Finally, a new release by Boris Blenn's Galaxy moniker! Probably most famous for his Electric Universe work, in 2004 Galaxy shifted directions musically with the very well-received "Science of Ecstasy," much more chill and downtempo than previous Galaxy releases. As the years passed it seemed more an dmore remote Blenn would return to Galaxy but luckily for fans of the genre, he has, and what results! "Everlasting Tone" is among my favorite albums of 2010 and in my opinion, Galaxy's best album. All of the tracks on here are very good - you can pick a random track and it would stand out on the majority of chill albums. In order, I would say my favorite tracks are 1, 5, 11 and 10. The title track is a great opener, it has that warm anthemic opener feel the way "Sol" on "Movements" did. "Including This" veers toward IDM, while "Flight of the Phoenix" has a really distinct atmosphere to it - beautifully drowsy and take-notice beats. "Highlight Diver" is a little more uptempo and works in more of a crescendo than some of the other tracks. "Wavemode" is a drifting, soothing track with a definite aquatic mood to it. The tracks I enjoyed the least are probably 2 and 6, but both tracks, particularly 6, could've been better if they were longer and had more development. Nothing much to criticize here though. If you're a fan of this kind of music, "Everlasting Tone" is one of those releases you should give a chance.
