Anyone who's seen Blade runner will know the iconic Vangelis soundtrack is something very special, and anyone who's into drum & bass will know the film is a goldmine for samples; from dialogue to sound effects, the films been sampled countlessly (mostly to great effect).Seba however goes one better and, while not necessarily sampling Vangelis' work, the inspiration is very, very clear. Dangerous Days is a masterpiece in production, the intro is futuristic sci-fi loveliness which evolves into warm bass and punchy (yet surprisingly hard) drums. The synth intro-work weaves in and out as the tune progresses and it just shows that Seba is without doubt one of the best and most experienced producers in the scene.It's gorgeous, and is a pinnacle tune in drum & bass, showing that the genre can be so much more than the aggressive status it often carries.

Totally agree. I do not really follow new D&B these days but I always look out for Seba, the man is a legend and it sounds like he just watched Bladerunner and made this tune straight after. Haunting Vangelis strings, big warm bass, great drumwork with the Tighten Up break laid down to liven things up. Really is a beautiful tune.

Dangerous Days is probably the best thing to come out of atmospheric Drum'n'Bass in many many years. Seba has done it again; beautiful, warm synths,atmosphere so thick you need an oxygen mask to help you breathe, and a just reecy-enough baseline to make things interesting. Just fantastic. The flip side is a drumfunk stormer; If you can't move to this one, you have no blood in you.Absolutely recommended.
