Just picked this up. Mine has same runout as listed here, but KEV is etched in Side B and Side C. Same pressing as everyone elses ? Made in US.

Add another comment that this MPO pressing is very good!My only gripe is actually with the sleeve art; the contrast has clearly been pushed far too far, a lot of the detail evident on the original sleeve is largely turned to black. But in terms of the (digital) remaster and the pressing, no complaints :)Perhaps for next year's 30th year anniversary we'll get a proper, all-analogue Abbey Road half-speed cut from the original tapes for our trouble, but that's wishlist stuff ;)

EDIT: THIS PRESSING IS GARBAGE.Read the reviews here, and of the company RAINBLO RECORDS who pressed this first.https://www.discogs.com/label/100643-Rainbo-RecordsIf this is the only way you can listen to this album, then maybe buy this pressing. Otherwise, Spotify this album and avoid RAINBO Records pressings. SIMPLY TERRIBLE. Yes, such a great album but what a sad pressing by which to honor this amazing record. Dynamics aside, this physical pressing is letting me down. I can hear the noise everywhere. Side b Lovesong and Last Dance, horrific. FUCK the pressing company who pressed this. Fine, make it a 2 disc set, which it should be, get the fans to buy a "nice" reissue and then fuck it up with a shitty press that has noise throughout? shame fucking shame. So pissed. Fascination Street just came on and I can hear the friggin' surface noise act as a counter point. THIS IS NOT WHY WE BUY VINYL PRESSINGS. God am I pissed b/c I love this song. If you can't hear the noise, good on you, but I bought this to hear a pristine, vinyl, warm, awesome version of one of my favorite songs and man am I disappointed.
Jonariara
Such a great album. This is the first The Cure vinyl I've bought. It's a shame that it was pressed at Rainbo. I've never had a good pressing from there. But all in all, I can't complain. It's a classic and I have a feeling it will be on heavy rotation for a long time.
Hiylchis
lots of surface noise... music sounds good though. Little disappointed but thats the game! The packaging is nice, overall glad to own it.

Has anyone out there encountered the same problem I've had with the 2010 Reissue? Omg I've tried 3 copies all of which have been returned thank goodness because at least here in Canada they are very expensive selling for around $50 New Sealed. The songs are clear and bright but the surface noise is unbearable right from the drop of the needle. The Rabbit is eating away destroying the beautiful songs before in-between and during most. Rhino reissue so not to surprised but for such a great Cure album not in my collection am super disappointed. Also Discogs is saying that there was a 2016 Reissue but is it? All the local record stores when searching to order brings up the 2010 version only in stock to purchase and am not going to do that again.
Malann
The 2016 Universal/Polydor reissue is sold in the European market only, so getting a chance at a decent pressing means you have to find a seller in the EU who can export it for you.All the copies I've seen at record stores in the US and Canada... they're the 2010 Rhino pressing, which is unfortunately the victim of Rainbo Records' wonky quality control. It is unlikely that a local Canadian store would have the 2016 pressing - which again is EU-only. Given the many reported cases of undue surface noise on the 2010 Rhino version including yours, I'd agree they are waaaaay overpriced for what they are. Thank goodness I've never gambled to try one.

The high-topped sneakered prophet of gloom, Robert Smith, opens the majestic atmospheric and expansive album Disintegration with the line, I think it’s dark and it looks like rain ...,” emblematic of all that The Cure have stood for. While there are those who would have you consider that Disintegration is just more of the same, it took the apparent mildly light-hearted release of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, to bring about this monumental opus of minor keyed songs, songs laced with drowning images designed not so much to invade your dreams, but to invade your waking hours. And to that end, The Cure managed to capture not only the essence and feel of impending doom and melancholy, but set it to verse, where the tunes are perhaps best sung on the bus while looking through smudged windows, or hummed while in class to ward off the boredom ... coalescing all of the rumors and majesty of this bewildering band into one crowning achievement that will never be equaled. All of the work by The Cure, and especially this release, were packaged and designed to be carried like shields, or banners of expression, as were the albums of Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Jim Hendrix back in the hazy 60’s; where tribes were formed, with hair and music being the passkey. You’ll find no angelic cries of exhalation here, nor will you find any hellish sustained misery either ... what you are treated to is the bleak angst that shrouded the 80’s and all of it’s excesses. Disintegration can also be seen as a coming of age, or perhaps the end of an age album, though as I stood there in my mid 30’s, wrapped in my oversized coat and untied sneakers, feeling for all the world like I was yet again in the right place at the right time, I had the distinct feeling that I was perhaps a bit of a spy in the house of love, and that I should be letting a younger generation have their naive hazy hay-day of discovery. Never the less, with perfect makeup and fashion to match, I danced into the wee hours of the morning like some proverbial ghost, haunting the side streets and after hours clubs. With all of this being said, Disintegration is all consuming in its sadness, longing, and emotional grandeur. It’s far from a teenage album filled with whines and despair ... it’s an indulgence into the dark nether regions of our subconsciousness, formulated to challenge the nature of our being as we come face to face with all we thought we knew, with discovering the lies we’d held as fact [lies told to us, and lies we told to ourselves], finding that the only way to escaped the melancholy is to find the beauty within it, and once done, this soundtrack, or highway marker of sorts, gets shelved and nearly forgotten, until your hand stumbles over it, and a smile of satisfaction for those bygone days gently crease your face.*** The Fun Facts: Riding on the success of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me there was both commercial and personal pressure placed on the band to deliver once again, yet as with many bands, this new found popularity had a destructive side, with Smith and other band members diving back into the use of hallucinogenic drugs which came to define this album. The drug use was not used to present something more playful for the sake of listening, but rather elicited and brought out the more dark and foreboding personal side of Robert Smith and his uncomfortableness with success ... hence the album's title, with the band feeling that they were disintegrating back into their former selves.Review by Jenell Kesler

I have both the 1989 original vinyl and cd (a few different pressings of each format) as well as the 2010 remastered on vinyl and cd (deluxe). I’m probably an outlier here but I prefer the original 1989 mix on cd. I used to think the original mix was too muddy and dull even when played loudly. BUT that was because my ears were too accustomed to loud heavy on the low end mixes from the mid 90s to present day. Disintegration is a desert island album for me so with the release of the 2010 remaster with all 12 songs across 2 discs, I couldn’t wait. The original ‘89 vinyl sounds really good considering its length for 1 disc but corners were cut to make it work. The 2010 reissue on vinyl is absolutely what to get if you want it on wax. Great pressing. Sounds fantastic. I’ve already burned through a couple copies. So why do I ultimately prefer the original 1989 cd? Keep in mind it was released when cds were the preferred format by record labels...you know the history. Basically when Disintegration was released it was intended to be heard on cd (digitally) even though it was recorded and mixed on tape. The 2 “bonus tracks” were just a marketing gimmick to buy the cd. (Such a shame to the vinyl version but oh well). Now the original cd master...because of the flaws related to its vinyl companion, the cd is the closest we have to what Robert, the band, and the producers and engineers intended the project to sound like. The 2010 remaster cd helped me understand that. With a nice pair of headphones and a decent CD player (or a nice dedicated dac when playing ripped files), I think you’ll understand there’s a lot of magic deep in the mix that the 2010 remaster overshadows with extra bass and volume. It’s easy to find a used ‘89 cd for $5 more or less vs $40+ for an original clean vinyl. Can’t go wrong.
Faell
My GZ Media Pressing sounds excellent and was not dirty from the factory.
Winenama
Is there any way to differentiate this pressing vs. the GZ on sealed copies? In the US there's no way to know which edition you're ordering, and there are no open copies for sale anywhere. I don't want to get caught with another crappy GZ pressing of this album....
Makaitist
How are you able to differentiate this pressing with the 2010 one? Can't find it anywhere on the packaging what company pressed the copy I have (which should be the MPO one)
Dalarin
Check the runout of your copy. There should be written MPO.
Maman
Well, after the release of the double LP, which includes all the songs of the album, this version is to be kept for sentimental reasons only.'Homesick' and 'Last Dance' give a whole new dimension to the experience and the quality is far better than the original, which despite the 25+ minutes for each side, it sounded very good.
Wenyost
Excellent, at last we can enjoy this album with the full playlist on vinyl
Aria
I own seven different pressings from the original to the last remastered and this one is the best sounding I've heard by far.
Exellent
This is the copy you want, if you can find a NM one. I can tell you that it's worth what ever you're willing to pay for it. Sound is brilliant!
Jake
Aha! So that’s what this album ‘should’ sound like! I’d always felt a bit underwhelmed by the original UK press (and I have several copies) in terms of balance and sonics. I have only just opened my copy of this 2010 repress (after reading through these reviews). I was lucky. Vinyl is immaculate, no marks, warps or defects. Play back is incredible, a few pops but that’s all. I’m playing it very loud (no neighbours!) and it’s absolutely majestic. Worth it for the intro to Prayers for Rain alone which I’ve replayed quite a few times now. Mine has GZ in the dead wax for reference. It seems a bit of a gamble on this press but if you get lucky with the pressing you won’t be disappointed!
Bukus
After I opened my sealed copy I was a bit disappointed. It was dirty!! but after a clean it sounds great. No warps, no clicks, no pops no surface noise. Really nice pressing
Kefym
This is a great sounding record and pressing, 2010. A must for any Cure fan.
Kadar
Honestly, I think this one sounds excellent... I can't compare it to other pressings, but I love the way this one sounds, has a good amount of dynamics and depth for my tastes!
POFOD
Snap, crackle, pop!!The music sounds good, especially turned up, but it's apparent it was mastered from a digital source and the record is pretty noisy, lots of pops plus side two of my copy is off-center. First time I've had to deal with this, I scraped some of the spindle off and made a mark so that I can center the record. The wow/flutter was real bad on Fascination Street. Disappointing that one of my favorite albums of all time is pressed so poorly. If I can find another copy in person and listen before buying I'd consider purchasing. Maybe sometime down the road they'll do a proper analogue master with some quality control on manufacturing.

Maybe sometime down the road they'll do a proper analogue master with some quality control on manufacturing. This version is pressed by the rightfully ill-reputed Rainbo Records pressing plant. Easily one of the most (if not THE most period) unreliable vinyl manufacturers out there - they completely and utterly butchered the 2012 Beatles Abbey Road reissue to incomprehensibly astronomical degrees, and it still stands as the worst new vinyl pressing I've ever owned. Side one on my Abbey Road is unacceptably noisy and there is so much non-stop non-fill (not just in the vinyl but maybe even in the metalwork) that it sounds like a worn-out copy being played on a steel-needle gramophone. What an embarrassment. I try to avoid Rainbo-pressed variants whenever possible, unless they're the only option or the mastering is known to be better than on other pressings. Mind you, they are perfectly capable of pressing clean and quiet records, and a lot of my Rainbo pressings are free of flaws (other than the occasional off-center grooves), but the Beatles example and one other defective Rainbo record I own are more than enough to make me cautious about their quality control.
Faebei
Much better and cleaner sounding than the GZ pressing, highly recommended if you want this remaster with clean vinyl.
Dainris
Mine 2010 Pressing is very good (flat and quiet) and the Sound is excellent like the other Fiction Records (Back to Black, Numbered, Coloured Vinyl, 2012/2013). I bought also The 2016 "Kiss Me ..." Version and this was a terrible Pressing (warped) and the Sound was not as Good as the GZ Pressing from 2013.
Cherry The Countess
Everywhere ive looked only has the 2010 RM. Does this 2016 release really exist????
Camper
This should have been a double album, a great shame that ace tracks like "Last Dance" and "Homesick" were not included on the original vinyl issue.
Nidora
For the version pressed by MPO i created a new release here The Cure - Disintegration
Whitebinder
Surprised by all these negative comments on this one. My copy of this is one of the best sounding records I have in my collection. Fantastic clarity & dynamics, plays perfectly on my Debut Carbon but can also say this played perfectly on a lower quality player (TEAC MC-D800).
Gindian
Yep MPO runouts here, great news! I thought the GZ pressing was filthy, marked and had a lot of surface noise. Really enjoying this new pressing done right!
