It's virtually impossible to listen to "Here to stay" without tears streaming down my face. Utterly, utterly gorgeous and heartbreaking at the same time. The soaring synths and beautiful piano ensure this is in my ALL TIME Top 10 songs ever written. Absolutely, completely and utterly spellbinding. Humans eh? Clever bunch sometimes! :-)

You took the very words out of my mouth. I too feel exactly the same about this drop dead beautiful elegiac piece of music. It's so moving.....and the words especially. Perfect impeccable - almost glacial - arrangement from the same production team that gave us Saint Etienne, of whom the songwriters are closely affiliated with. The preceding track also unsettles with its sheer bleached out guitar FX coda in its final three/four minutes which creates such unbearable, suffocating tension [you want it to go on longer and get louder and louder] before it suddenly cuts off. Such a brilliant EP. Bought it back then in 1994 but wish I got the vinyl as well whilst I had the chance..... [long time Field Mice / TBS fan, by the way - so that's hardly a surprise!]
