Goldendragon
This is a beautiful album unlike anything Paul Weller has done before. It's made up of more quiet, acoustic tracks with beautiful arrangements. Unfortunately side three seems to have issues. After thoroughly cleaning this pressing I felt that disc one was pretty good-- great sounding and not marred by excessive surface noise-- most of which was low level ticks and not a single loud pop. Disc two side C is another matter. It suffers from loud persistent non-fill distortion. The label should replace this disc. I'm going to contact them and inquire about this as it is apparently a common problem.UPDATE: I have now tried three copies of this LP from two separate stores. Side three is defective on all of them. Coincidence? I think not. Side three is full of non-fill and other distortions on the opening track and then again dispersed randomly throughout the other tracks on side three. This many duds usually indicates the use of a contaminated or over-used stamper. The label ought to issue a replacement for disc two given this many problems.

Sadly the vinyl pressing is faulty. I have had two copys from different sources and they have very crackle noise particularly on sides 1 and 3 as others here have reported. On close inspection under bright light, a pressing defect known as Non-fill is evident. It looks like strings of little white dots where the groove has not formed properly due to poor pressing.I would urge all to return them for refunds, it's not acceptable, record pressing plants shouldn't be palming us off with this overpriced shoddy ptoduct

Great Album.Works better for me with this one, to hear all the songs in one go, on CD. Love the tip of the hat to Bolan on Mayfly.
Tebei
Good copy, although like JATPL side three is a little noisier but in my case not intrusive. In the dead wax there is etched what could be CV. Any ideas what this may refer to?
Dagdardana
This is an excellent album but I did find my copy to be a bit clicky, even after several washes. Side C seemed to have quite a few.

Great record! A bit mellow but the sound quality is excellent and the pressings are quiet and dead flat on my deck.I swapped my sleeves out for Mobile Fidelity sleeves. Much nicer.
Hasirri
Yep. Side three is unlistenable. Loud non-fill distortion throughout. I suggest returning it at least several times since non-fill is random. This pressing deserved better.

4th copy arrived today this time from HMV rather than Amazon UK, again the start of side 1 & side 3 are simply unlistenable, quiet acoustic/orchestral passages with extreme surface noise. £30 and the pressing quality is just ****e....Amazing album to listen to in 24 bit hi-res but, I just can’t listen to it on vinyl because of the surface noise. Anyone else had issues?
Painwind
Another great packaging for a Weller Record. Pretty good album as well!
Rigiot
agree with the comment about the poly lined sleeves.the gatefold opening on the main sleeve seem a bit on the small/tight side.not so easy to get the vinyl in and out.great album.
Nuadador
Good album this - probably my favourite since 22 Dreams. A beautiful package. Lovely sleeve, great pressing, nice artwork...and yet they skimp on polylined inner sleeves. Why do record companies do this? It's a premium priced product, yet these items cost pennies, or fractions of.
