The key person here is Lincoln Mayorga who worked with the 4 Preps and was a member of the instrumental combo,
The Piltdown Men, along with Ed Cobb. Lincoln arranged and Ed wrote and produced the Top-10 hit, “Dirty Water” by the Standells in 1966.
There were a number of Red Coats out there in the 60s, although it’s not clear whether or not this particular group made any more recordings.
