Rishason
Not a bad release although inessential listening. The remixes are very much typical of the era and are nothing groundbreaking. Having said that neither were the originals really. My favourite two mixes here are the Big Bang 12" mix and the Groove mix which are both of Bang. I like the other two Bang mixes ( I don't care much for the mix of She's So High) but they contain too little of the original for me. As this was released without the bands authorization I'd be very surprised if these mixes were ever given widespread distribution beyond this promo release in the future. They're pretty good mixes although there's nothing particularly amazing about them. If you really like what you hear here, MW did two futher mixes of Bang which can be found on the Blur-ti-go ep. Realistically, this is probably only going to really interest those with a keen interest in Blur releases or seasoned fans of 90's remixes but these are quite good mixes, although not a must-hear.

Blur notoriously hated this release; their US record company had the songs remixed without the band's approval and released the 12" as a promo just as the band was touring the US for the very first time. (This is paraphrased from the official Blur biography, "3862 Days".) However, it's a fairly enjoyable, solid enough representation of middle-of-the-road remixes from that era — slightly ravey with some Shamen samples and a bit of deep house tossed in. The remix of "She's So High" is really the selling point on this, it keeps much of the flavor of the original while adding some heavy, trippy drums and moany voices.
