The Goa Pyramid Mix by Martin Freeland (AKA Man With No Name) is one of the best tracks this talented old school legend has ever produced. Just as fine as his remixes of The Loin King and Greece 2000, The Single has this curse of never reaching an audience as wide as many other tunes of his. Sound and structure wise, The Single is as simple and old school as goa trance gets. There is nothing mind challenging here, but Man With No Name absolutely kills it with his larger than life melodic arrangements, uplifting harmonic sequences and mystical vibes all over, making sure this one remains one of those gems which earned him a place along the finest of them all. With more than a decade and a half behind it, The Rise has more than earned its five star general staus as a stone cold classic. As far as Man With No Name's remixes go, along with his remix of the Infernal Machine track and his take on Disco Volante's Moonraker or even his remake of The Infinty Project's Stimuli, Martin Freeland's remix of The Rise is a five out of a five gem, and feel free to blind fold me any time of the day and I'd say the same. Worth every little one of your pennies just for the Man With No Name remix alone!

In total agreement. MWNN gets it right every time. This right here is why he is considered a giant.

Rise - "The Single" could have been better by simply leaving tracks 1, 2, & 5 off the cd as tracks 1 & 2 are utter trash and 5 is just tolerable. So that would leave us having the MWNN Remix(track #3)and the Ayahuasca Remix(track #4) left, two excellent songs (especially the MWNN one) that had this single been released with just these two it would have a 4.5 average rating, a 5 for the MWNN remix and a 4 for the Ayahusca Remix, respectively. But it unfortunately has the other three dropping the cd's average to a low 3, too bad as this cd might continue going under the radar with one of MWNN's better psychedelic trance tracks.

WOW! What a record... No, as always, I have nothing good to say about Oakenfold work. It's simply a realy shitty track, that should have never been released, and just interuppet to the two other tracks that make this 12" so speciel: The Man With No Name Remix, is simply one of his best tracks. A pure energetic Goa Trance, with all the Goa music elements. A true classic. The Ayahuasca remix is also brilliant, though most people don't know it. It exactly what you expect to hear in a Goa tune, but much better! Since both good track are in the middle of the record, you can cut the edges that contains the original Oakenfold tracks, and make this record a 10" single... :-)

Fully agree with above comments. The perfecto mixes are not good at all but the 2 inner tracks are awesome! Sorry, had to give this a 4 rating though because the perfectos :s
