So you get all the snap, crackle & pops, similar to any of the LP rips circulating online.The sound quality on the CD is a bit better than that, it has been cleaned up somewhat, however it's not a remaster by any means.Can anyone who has the promotional CD that came with the Jazz Magazine in France let us know if this is also sourced from an LP, or if it has been properly cleaned up & remastered?

incredible music, of all his records this one grooves the hardest. i can't believe how hard to find this one is.'awakenings' was just reissued, let's hope 'jamal plays jamal' is not too far behind.

What a beautiful album, absolute masterpiece surely one of the best Jazz LP's out there.

Magnificent 1974 recording on 20th Century Records from the great pianist Ahmad Jamal with the other two members of his trio, Jamil Nasser on bass and Frank Gant on drums, along with Azzedin Weston in a VERY prominent role on congas, and a string and horn section arranged by Richard Evans. Produced by Jamal himself, all six selections on the album were written by him. "Jamal Plays Jamal" is a CLASSIC that has yet to be officially released on cd. It commands premium prices in the collector's market and has been sampled over the years by many other musicians.

Why oh why has this not had a CD release somewhere in the world?!?! Must be some contractual or legal thing as music this good should be out there for all to enjoy....

Incredible album. One of my favorites from Jamal.
