It's hard enough to find words to describe music -- even harder here. Pritchard has a clarity in outlining the perimeter of his creations which is unique. Whatever style, d&b, dubstep, grime, hip hop, it always hits the spot. Dancefloor-friendly, but enough gimmicks and little hidden ear-candies to reward repeated home-listening as well. Pressure, but with soul. Cold electronic music that betrays the human composer behind it in every note. An immense music-processing and music consuming brain must be behind it, swallowing today's culture and reprocessing it to find its own form in it. How can this guy stay relevant for such a long time? Arrr, I was supposed to review this EP but couldn't find words for it. Eat the above instead. It's salad.

He's a bit of a legend this chap so after having 3 people in a week coming up and asking what that slow stalking, hugely atmospheric cyberdubstep track on S2 of EP1 I was playing ,I became convinced for about a week nowt else mattered. 'Call to Arms' kind of takes the "dubstep" genre into mogadon funk territory but is so cerebrally massaging, it breathes like a living being. The rest of this EP veers around the realms of hypnotic, pulsing & organic Flying Lotus style territory and therefore oozes utter class. Much love to Mr. Pritchard

Awesome piece of work here from Mr Pritchard. Big nods to J Dilla, but believe me not a rip off. The pace, spaces and rhythms are Dilla-like, but Pritchard's electronic background shines through with bleeps and squelchy acid lines that gives the whole EP a feeling of early Warp meets contemporary Stones Throw. Dilla's production on Frank-N-Dank's 48 Hrs was an electronic journey where he produced all of his own sounds (due to sample clearence problems on the first draft, he rewrote the album!) and you can definitely see a parallel with that album and this EP, but Pritchard has enough styles and skills of his own to render something that is part homage to Dilla, but all unique to Harmonic 313. If you like this check out Dabrye, Flying Lotus and Funckarma; other fine examples of electronica-meets-hip hop.
