I have two copies of this, each with censored artwork and titles on the back. However, one copy includes the lyrics, the other does not.

Coming from a musical style which became repetitive, monotonous and stale a year after it became popular, death metal's arguably best-known proponents actually managed to make an album that is none of those things (with exception to popular - The Bleeding is frequently cited as this band's 'best' album.)The production undoubtedly helps; from what I remember, Cannibal Corpse albums before The Bleeding sounded like mud, accompanied by insistent drumming and unintelligible animal grunts; what is refreshing here is that everything is audible, lyrics are discernible, arrangements are imaginative and the cartoon ultraviolence is amusing. Vocalist Chris Barnes uses different 'voices' to great effect and the guitarists excessive use of trills is impressive.It was all downhill from here, Barnes left - taking much of the band's personality (and a nifty logo) with him.I bought this CD when I was fifteen, what I find amusing is that I still have it, I'm in my thirties now, the CD looks out of place in my collection, but I can't get rid of it.
