Agalas
my favorite album of all time. numero uno. can't wait to see what Alan comes up with next!
Ttexav
This record is such a wonderful quirky, cool, colorful time capsule. Being born in the 80's this album just instantly clicked with me. The late 80's early 90's artwork is just fantastic, it just makes me want to get out my old Sega Megadrive and play strider and out run. While the pressing isn't great (lots of surface noise) it fits the retro low-fi approach perfectly, hell I even love that it's misprinted and labeled as 33rpm while it's 45rpm. Looks lovely on transparent yellow vinyl. Working alone late at night in this old retired 80's office building decorated with palm trees when this record came on was a hell of a drug. Perfect timing! Thanks for warping me through time Mr. Palomo! This album goes on overdrive when 61 Cygni Ave comes on.. and oh man that music video for Slumlord! This whole concept is just pure goodness!
The_NiGGa
Got this months after release and it’s still the misprint version w/ slipmat. Great flawless pressing (no cleaning required), easily sounds better than the digital version. No idea why anyone would complain, unless they’re just a mixed bag.EDIT: I see it’s the UK version getting complaints. The US one is definitely excellent, and the album is long enough that the relatively short side lengths aren’t a real hassle (they’re actually fairly long for 45RPM). And the higher speed has definite benefits in terms of surface noise and bass reproduction.
Felolune
This is labeled 'misprint' and included a photo, but there's also another item in the database that's labeled misprint. Is this possibly *not* the misprint listing and someone erroneously added the misprint part later?
Taun
This one is definitely misprinted. I'm listening to it now.
Wrathmaster
Loved it, one of my favorite albums of 2015. The way that Mr. Alan plays basicaly all the instruments on the record is great.
Sharpbinder
Anybody's commenting on the vinyl pressing and shit, but you guys have to admit this is the funkiest record in years.
Ausstan
In hindsight: I'd avoid buying this version. The pressing quality [at least with my copy] is garbage. Plus: it's nonsensical to me to have a 45rpm pressing over two discs for low fidelity music. 33 1/3 is more than acceptable for music as lofi as this; therefore, a puzzling pressing decision.Unless you absolutely must own the record cover in 12 inch format...skip this one and either buy the cd or just mp3 it! (Honestly, in hindsight: the album flows better as a whole IMO vs. being chopped up x4 sides.)
Usaxma
Anyone else's slipmat not perfectly circular? Mine is off by about half an inch and doesn't look great when it's spinning.
Golden freddi
Mine as well not perpect circular
energy breath
Yeah mine is the same way...
Levion
Written 33rpm on the vinyl but must be played at 45rpm
Beydar
Disregard, wrong version.
ZEr0
I got this copy minus the slip mat from Amazon. How is this an indie exclusive?
Bloodfire
Yeah same with mine. Yellow copy + MP233 version code.
in waiting
Ordered mine from Bullmoose and it was the yellow transparent version and it came with the slip mat. Sorry to hear those who didn't get it. =This is easily one of the year's best records!
Ironfire
Is there two different pressings? I ordered mine directly from Mom + Pop and missing the slip may
Sagda
There's also a (apparently later) pressing of yellow w/o Slipmat. I bought it new without the misprinted RPM and no slipmat.
Water
I pre-ordered this record back in august through the neon indian site as a bundle which came with the colored vinyl, a shirt and a black light poster. Never said anything about a slip mat. Wasnt until I saw his show in San Antonio when I learned that those pre-orders at that later time came with a slip mat instead of the bundle.
Oppebro
Sounds like this is similar to the recent Courtney Barnett album, also on Mom+Pop: all first pressings on colored vinyl, a small number sold in indie stores with a slip mat packaged in, then a black pressing to follow.
Slowly writer
Also bought the yellow transparent vinyl - no slipmat :(
Road.to sliver
i ordered from amazon (wanted to buy from an indie store, but the stores around here didn't get it on release day). i got yellow vinyl, but no slipmat. one of the stores around me said they'd give me a slipmat when they came in.
BoberMod
That's the one I got, the transparent yellow one. No slipmat though that's funny
Runemane
"Indie exclusive" pressing = Slipmat+Transparent Yellow VinylRegular pressing = Black vinyl, no slipmat.Sites that are selling the "Indie Exclusive w/ Slipmat" are specifying that, it seems like
Gogal
I saw two copies with the slip mat and one without the slip mat at my local shop when I purchased. The one without the mat also did not have the hype sticker on the front. I chose one with a slip mat and it's on yellow vinyl. Are the ones without the mat on yellow or black?
Innadril
mine didn't come with a slipmat either
Impala Frozen
the labels say 33RPM, but this is a 45RPM record. Not gonna lie, I played the whole first side at 33RPM like "wow Neon Indian really changed his sound up" lol
Arakus
Do the record play ok @ 45 RPM? I just ordered my copy, and would sucks if sounds bad
Phobism
I had the same reaction as you. After listening to Side A I was convinced the RPM on the record label was wrong.
Xwnaydan
I did the same thing, dude. Then I toyed with it and was like "yeah, someone messed up," haha.
