Just pulled my records out of storage after 10 years traveling around the world. Couldn't even remember having this, i bought it for 1dollar 20 years ago and forgot about it. Prices are insane these days !!!! 100USD for this ???

My Test Press is from Ensign as evidenced by the ENVY9 written in tiny letters in the run out grooves. I bought it from a man who found it at a car boot sale!

.....so is this test pressing, but the submitter got it wrong. Looks like this one came from a similar source looking at the 25p price written at the top right corner ;-)

There’s a funny story about this record that was told to me recently by the brains and producer behind the LP, Chris Hill. Hilly told me that the music was recorded in Germany and they flew to New York afterwards to lay down vocals. When Chris arrived at the recording studios he asked for the three best session vocalists the studio had, to come in and do the vocals. The three duly arrived and of course one of them was Luther Vandross who had just finished touring with David Bowie. Luther said to Hilly it would take him ages to learn how the song should be sung so he suggested that Chris sing the song to him first then he would learn it quicker that way. Hilly’s response was typical. “I can’t f***ing sing!” said Hilly. Luther insisted and eventually Hilly sang to Luther sketching out the vocals and how they should be sung. The rest as they say is history.. I have been begging Chris to try and find the original multi tracks to this as I’ve love to give them to my good friend, Tom Moulton, for him to do a “number” on the song and remix it, it’s one of my all time favourites. Sadly to this date the multi tracks have yet to be found and are now presumed to be lost….

The other 2 vocalists are David Lasley and Ula Hedwig

Now quite rare and highly collectable due to the fact that a certain Mr Luther Vandross does vocals on the key cuts. The killer is See you in LA/Jet plane ride (the two cuts seemlessly merge into each other)but there's lots of other good stuff on the LP too. Trivia note the model on the cover is Paula Yates... The LP fetches around £100 now due to it's rareity. I own 2 copies, the normal pressing in picture jacket but I also own a white label test pressing of the LP. How rare is that..?
