In a sense, this sampler really conveys some aspects of the 80´s oldschool electro sounds. The synths, the beats, the vocoders - it all does sound very "original". In this sense, I can recommend the album. However, I also have to admit that it feels somehow strange - most of the artists are of German nationality, the tracks are brand new (released 2010), and then you have rhymes like "dance around to the sound of the underground" or "move your body to the beat", which sound somewhat silly nowadays. The 80´s american rap parts also prove to be more difficult to authentically "reproduce" than the synthetic sounds. Thus, the very "faithfulness" of the whole thing somehow makes it a fake and gives an uneasy feeling. Personally, I´d rather dig the old records or get a sampler with original old tunes (if such a thing exists). Electro has moved on far beyond in the meantime.
