Aurora Infernalis did a cool reissue of the first full-length album of the Norwegians. Fine cover design with 12 page booklet and relish sound (sound on this release sure more better than edition from Hammerheart Records in 2002 ).The album cover has undergone changes, but remained close to the original. Although the original cover more darker and more consistent with the spirit and content of the album (the cover of 2002 reflects more the concept of the group which departed from their black metal roots).The release came in two versions, limited to 666 copies: on a silver (200 copies) and black vinyl (466 copies). Rather the album is divided into two 180 gram vinyls, and if more precisely on three sides (on the fourth side is the band's logo and album name).The silver vinyl looks good and sounds good, but the vinyl mass is still noisy. It is well heard in the pauses. So recommend to buy this release on classic black vinyl.

Serious praise goes to Aurora Infernalis. This release is no joke, everything I could've hoped for and more. This album has a lot of loyal fans and I count myself in that group. I've been waiting a long time for this album to get the vinyl treatment it deserves and I wasn't let down at all.The pros:Fantastic art (8 page book, full color, no pixelation at all, quality layout - nice heavy gatefold)Excellent record pressing (no surface noise, no pops, no skips, no errors or issues at all)Mastering (this is the biggest treasure of this re-release. The drums and synths especially. Anytime I hear about remastering I get scared because normally it just means maximizing loudness and compression but the mastering job is here is absolutely spot on - all the instruments can breathe and as a whole the music glows off the vinyl. It's vastly superior to the original).Cons: none at allI own the silver version but I assume all my comments relate equally to the black vinyl pressing as well. Grab you a copy of this one if you haven't already. It's a stunning release in every aspect! A lot of love went into this one and you can tell.
