Manarius
The inventor of deep house returns in style. All sides of his musical personality are represented on this album: gentle jazzy grooves, soulmoving tearjerkers with Larry's signature vocals, futuristic acid, even a reggae'ish groove featuring the legendary Paul St. Hillaire aka Tikiman. Can you feel it?!
Fhois
An unbelievable LP. In an era where the supply of music is endless, take some time to soak in this music multiple times.
Goldfury
An instant classic for sure. I got the 2 disc cd and am very glad that I did. The majority of the album is very fresh and relaxing. The first disc is very melodic and accessible. Tiger Lounge is a standout track, with guitars as the most prominent instrument and amazing results. Sands of Aruba is another highlight. The majority of the second disc has a more experimental tone before chilling out with Qwazars and Aether, an extremely atmospheric track. This is a really great 2018 release.
Agalen
Am I the only one who thinks it's mixed and mastered very clinically? The album is amazing, of course, but I just think it's mixed and mastered a bit unpleasantly. A bit overproduced perhaps.
The Sphinx of Driz
It doesn't matter for the quality of the mix as there are merits to both analog and digital. However, all Heard's earlier stuff was very warm, and all the layers were always beautifully clumped together. Here I feel there is more space between the layers, and it's just a bit thin, which is not my taste. :-(
Ucantia
Digital/analog matters not. It's all in the mixdown and mastering.
Kalrajas
Well it just sounds very digital, thinnish, and exaggerated in the highs. And very tight and clinical in the lows. Probably has to do with that the album is most likely mixed digitally as opposed to on an analog desk, like his older work. His older work all sounds very calming for the ears, while this album is quite “in your face”...
Waiso
If you fell in love with the vibes on Introduction then you'll fall for this too. With Larry Heard, House is a feeling, not merely a set of signifiers.
Nikok
I can say not his best but don't judge quick either.Sands Of Aruba. It's seriously all about this track. Raw & Instant classic. Albums' best track. Period.Welcome back Larry!
