One side's label says "Orb Factor 6" and the other has the artist and track titles, but the release title, The Kiss EP, is only mentioned on an info sheet sent with the white-label edition. The title is given as just Kiss EP in a later official catalog.

949 copies were released "because we didn't think we'd sell any more", according to a discography published in a 1993 issue of Record Collector magazine, which also says the record "is rumoured to have recently been bootlegged."

"The roof is on fire" is a great track. Though I still enjoy listening to all the tunes on this EP, maybe it's a British thing. The 12 captures something of the late 80s scene in a KLF, acid house kind of way. Experimental, raw and a bit out there. Fair enough don't pay a fortune for it but ...

"The roof is on fire" is a wicked song, a testament to the power of Jimmy Cauty when Alex was merely learning the ropes

The EP is an example of their early experimentation. i'm sure they were well aware of the kind of tunes they were making. Popular at the time and still has a lot of soul.

"The roof is on fire is absolute garbage, it sounds like someone who learned how to baby scratch that very day. It's not even remotely on beat. The whole record is worthless. This is the only orb record NOT to get normally they are trying to sound good, and yet it's one of the most expensive. Save your money, don't buy this.

i actually found a copy of this 12" in a stack of records lying next to a gargage can, and have since seen copies of it sell for $60 or more. not exactly an outstanding piece of music, but historically an "important" record as it is the first ever orb release. this one is for the serious collectors only, as it is hardly worth $60.

I paid way too much for this record and I'm still not sure if I have an original or a re-release. Buyers beware when purchasing this album for high dollar amounts - IT WAS RE-RELEASED. Beyond that, the music is just not that good. Very little difference in the 4 mixes. The drum tracks sound really old and cheesey and it contains a Flava Flav vocal sample, which I never need to hear in another song...EVER! Really, I can't recommend this 12". Find the MP3's instead. This music is pre-AHEPBTRFTCOTU and it shows. Along these same lines, if you find an MP3 of Peace In The Middle East (or an original), by all means, grab it! It's held up against the test of time much better as far as older Orb songs go.
