Deep and dreamy stuff from KMC. I reckon if the likes of Bukem, Photek or PFM released Polaris it would have been a lot bigger...Lovely strings & chords, soothing sax sounds, catchy three tone steel drum riff and a rearranged chopped beat which I believe might be lifted from... Psychotropic - Hypnosis, also used in PFM - Danny's Song.Rolling b line & beats too.One for the heads. Unknown classic in my opinion.Can be found on a Soundcloud mix... Beautifully Crafted Vol 09 by Melos. Great set!

KMC's production and engineering is first class. Crisp drumz and intelligent chords on Polaris, yet it rolls nicely, epitomises the sound coming through at the time but yet stands the test of time.

To me, "DRIFTING" sounds dated today in spite of its nice break.For sure the A-thing here is "POLARIS" ...Peaceful seashore sounds set the ambience for fluid glissandi of smooth synth,deeply expanding into layers with a slow whirl motion as to reach highest and lowest opposites of spectrum, like stylized waves.Some digi-choir in the background time to time completing the scene, one bird-like ascending tone emerges, then a sinuous phrase of soft sax and some steeldrum signal briefly ringing like a sonic sunset which will echo to that of "bird" ...Here is the first face of POLARIS ...nicely undulating. In this section, it also proves to fit dancefloor as well, regarding richness of drumline.Final part of the track, beginning short while before break, is plain magics : lovely chords oscillating gently, combined with unmatched mastery !Even an extra of real seabirds sounds this time (during break) is no picturesque but part of the marvel ...Ay ! An intelligent classic, no question !
