This is his best album. It is perfectly, consistently minimal, and scratches the ears without being noisy, this interplay between two channels of buzzing synths. There's this sense of subdued urgency, but it's calm. Something really important is happening, but only snippits of it are exposed. Though this is better considered as one large track, Sector 6 is a standout - it's mixed relatively loud and is the most angry of all Sectors.

why is there no LP version of this yet? sacrilege

There will be. Check Norman Records to pre-order the 2xLP. :)

I would pay good money for an LP edition of this.

I agree with the comment below; this is a standout Muslimgauze release. Most songs are not much more than one or two tracks or analog synths either slowly arpeggiating or doing the smallest vamps/stabs imaginable. Sounds great mixed over house and techno records as it sounds like the synth/midrange component of those genres. Besides this rhythmic base; Bryn Jones shows off his skills with found sounds on this release; the high range/headspace of each track being strange collages of found sounds, percussive hits, echoes, noise and 'general electricity'. There are a few tracks with fast, almost Jungle/protoDnB breakbeat manipulation going on, but he still manages to make this dance atop the slower, punishing rhythms below. Extremely repetitive and dark; reminds me a bit of Klaus Schulze "Cyborgs Traum" or if Hamas re-recorded Tangerine Dream "Phaedra". If you want to see Jones' tape cutting/production skills being put to the test, or if you just wanna zone out; this is the Muslimgauze release for you. Its strange how much MORE rhythmic his production seems when he is using non percussive samples to create his web. A perfect record IMO.
