Recorded in London on 27 and 28 May 1947 by Artur Schnabel and the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Alceo Galliera on master numbers 2EA12031 to 12040 inclusive.

First issue in December 1948 on record numbers DB6692 to 6696 inclusive.

Transferred to LP in Paris in 1956 on master numbers 2XEA10076 and 10077.

First issue of this transfer in March, 1957 on record number COLH5 in the Gravures Illustres series in France. Issued in England in April 1957.

World Record Club 3rd pressing. "Connoisseur Series" is now in white on the cover (previously in black), and the CE prefix has been dropped (it was dropped from new releases in September 1968). The addresses on the rear of the sleeve have no doubt been updated as follows:
