One of the best albums i heard in a very long time. This is the real thing - exactly the type of Reggae that has the most approach to me personally. The early 80ies with the many new stylees "Rub-A-Dub" , militant Rooots best examplified by the quintessential Riddim Squad : The Roots Raddics Band , mixed either by King Tubby, Prince Jammy and esp. by hos apprentice Scientist added the amount of spaced out spliffed out Sensimillia madness that makes the often quite similar sounding Riddims sound so fresh, unique and often enough absolutely crucial. Here we get the whole pallete of what made Reggae sound so sweet back then - Good Songs in the first place - Lyrics that deal with Righteouseness and spiritual experiences in the same way as they talk about everyday affairs or the always important Love Stories - next came the DeeJay or Toaster part who took the riddim and hook line of the track as the one slice of bread and his own talk as the other - Here you get even the Dub Versions , which adds a LOT to the class of this LP. So a completet Roots Reggae Party is awatiting you in 4 great chapters : Screechy Dan's fine songs "Living In The Ghetto" and "Teardrop" hold down Side A with it's beautiful Lovers Vibe , while Side Two concentrates more on serious Rasta reasoning ; Mighty 3's "Sit Down And Reason" and the absolute wonderful "In The Sun" ends with epic 11 minutes of Reggae pleasure. It may be hard to find this wax, but you can get Part 1 and 2 of this Roots Reggae Party on a crisp sounding Silver Kamel repressed CD - so run come carry bring this from your favourite shop without hesitation.
