This is possibly my favorite album of all time. I was always intrigued by the Melvins but was never completely 100% sold on them (thanks to albums like Prick and Colossus of Destiny). They seemed to have the ability to completely blow me away with songs like Honey Bucket (from Houdini), or Revolve (from Stoner Witch) or Dr. Geek (from Hostile Ambient Takover), but there were always a few tracks I really liked, and a few I really didn't. As soon as I heard (a) Senile Animal there was no question that this was the greatest living rock/metal/whatever band in existence. I have to credit the addition of the Big Business boys for adding a new level of intensity to what was already one of the heaviest combos around. The overall experience of this album feels like a 45 minute rollercoaster that won't let you off. Then, when your thinking it's almost over, and you might be able to get free, it just coasts along until you're left with no choice but to ride it out and let it have it's way with you. This is, perhaps, a poor review, but it's hard to describe how completely enthralling this piece of work is. It's like the 'perfect' album I would have imagined in my head, without having any idea how to execute it. The Melvins did it for me. Thanks guys. You now have a devoted fan for life. Anyone who likes it a little rough (and a lot awesome) should check this one out. It's hard to imagine that anyone could not love this album, but there are bound to be some who just don't. That's the Melvins in a nutshell, I suppose.

One of the greatest Melvins albums. Solid tracks with epic riffs that withstand the test of time alongside other Melvins greats: Stag, Stoner Witch, Honkey etc. These dudes were on a real creative high on this album.
