On REMIX ROMANCE, Sally Shapiro's debut gets handed over to a group of contemporaries from around the globe, with Tensnake taking the first honors with a house mix of "I'll Be By Your Side" that strips out most of the Italo-disco trappings of the original, which the Juan McLean keeps, though not without adding a few deeper touches to "I Know You're My Love." Holy F*** give "Find My Soul" a more dreamy rock treatment, while Woodhands gives "Anorak Christmas" a lo-fi rub. But Skatebård keeps the disco alive with his take on "He Keeps Me Alive," with The Cansecos adding some good-time funk to "Hold Me So Tight." Jon Brooks turns "Skating In The Moonshine" into a spare, folk song, while Lindstrøm continues with an extended cosmic disco jam until Between Interval comes in to give "Sleep in My Arms" an ambient mix, with some low, throbbing percussion. Romance should always sound so good.
