A Stuttgart progressive originating from the group Nyrvana Pancake. Pancake were largely the vehicle of guitarist Walter Negele, who had a unique style that was the only carry factor over their three albums.Their debut ROXY ELEPHANT, was more typical of the German and British progressive style of the era, with the focus on multiple guitars, dynamics, with rock songs, ballads, hard-rock edged yet also afire with space-rocking instrumental breaks. The songs, delivered by excellent singer Hampy Nerlich, often recall Sahara, and are quite memorable, often interspersed by guitar runs and folky motifs that draw in hints of Quicksilver, Man, Pink Floyd and such-like. As time has gone on, it seems that many other bands were inspired by Pancake's (then) unique concoction.
