Issue listened to: https://www.discogs.com/Mac-DeMarco-Salad-Days/release/8606174Coming back and reviewing this album is a treat. You almost forget how easy to listen to and good it is. Pressing wise its pretty top notch with low surface noise and pops. Really inaudible during tracks. Although there was one song that has some background noise in it, probably picked up in the recording of the song itself, which is going to need a remaster or re recording to fix it. Mastering wise its great. The string instruments have that extra bling to them and Macs voice sings a thread through them without being sibilant or unpleasent to the ear. On a side note this is probably the biggest jacket sleeve I have seen. It almost doesn't fit in my protective plastic one. But it includes nice printed on pictures and a poster. And I love that the inner sleeve has lyrics on the back, the only drawback is that its not lined in plastic. One of Macs more complete releases.Equipment used:Rega RP1 with Nagaoka MP-110 CartridgeCyrus 2 AmplifierSystem Fidelity SF-3050 Tower SpeakersCustom made HQ Speaker Cables

Amazing album and an amazing package! It's a bit sad that the rest of Mac's album arn't of this packaging quality. You have a poster, the cover opens up... the poster is placed in one of thise spots while the vinyl is in the other spot so it's easy to get the vinyl in & out... and the Vinyl cover has the lyrics on them. Really really cool!About the music... I first found out about Mac in December 2014 with the song Chamber of Reflection, however this year I decided to listen to the whole album... and imediatly found out that I like Brother & Let Her Go.In Feburary I also decided to buy the Vinyl and ... so I got to listen even more to this album. It's the type of album that really works well on vinyl. You just put in on and chill :)

My copy is a gatefold with only one record. The other sleeve on the gatefold had absolutely nothing in it. The one side had the record and sleeve, the poster, and the download card. I laughed, honestly, cuz I feel like this is just mac trolling me.

You must be very new to record collecting

These are back in print! :3

I just picked up a copy on yellow vinyl, but it's just the LP in a gatefold sleeve with a poster. No box set or anything. Just the single LP. Any info on this?

ive heard some similar stuff. my guess is there was a mixup when they pressed the 2 demos on orange, they might've accidentally sent orders for salad days on orange, so they might as well've sent them out. also, the yellow could just be leftover extras from the limited edition box.

I ordered mine straight from Captured Tracks. Its the normal addition with the poster but my vinyl is more of an orange than yellow.

I seem to be the only one, but I am a bit disappointed by this record. Although I think all songs are very much enjoyable, I don't really hear any progression from '2' onwards. To me, it seems like he just made more of the same, which is nice, but not very surprising. When I first heard '2' I really had the feeling I was listening to something new and different, so I was hoping he would suprise me again. Unfortunately, he didn't. In addition, A lot of people put forward that the lyrics on this release actually have some meaning, but I still find them quite simple. I rather have a guy singing about his pack of cigarettes than lyrics like "treat her better boy, if having her at your side is something you enjoy". Nevertheless, a very fine record.

I think this album sucks also. It's boring, slow, lazy--lazy in a bad simple way.

I felt exactly the same way, and still do. "2" had much more to offer (Not to speak of "Ying Yang" by Makeout Videotape, which was absolutely amazing), this album is really nice, but it really doesn't feel as "good" or w/e as the previous album.

Maybe I'll give it another spin!

I thought the same after my first listening session, "oh his sound didn't change at all" and I dismissed the album pretty rapidly, but I came back to it a little while later and after many listens he definitely changed and improved. I really prefer this album to 2 in every respects. It still has that Demarco kick to it but it's very different from his last release if you listen properly. Maybe that's just me. Really an album that grew on me more than I expected.
