How does this sound words words words words words words
Kardana
Wow this sounds awesome. Optimal is the best plant going right now.
Agalen
Atlas is probably the result of streaming The Mars Volta through a black hole.
Fordrellador
how do people determine the repress from the original press of this? Do they have the same matrix?
Dainris
In a comment on the original pressing's page, somebody said the first pressing has "Made in England" printed on the back, while the repress has "Made in EU" printed on the back. That seems to be the only difference. They're otherwise identical, down to the serial numbers etched into the vinyl.
Sharpmane
I NEED another reissue of this.
Jeb
Wondering if there's any cover/artwork difference between the 1st press and the 2011 reiussue...anybody?Thanks a lot Z.
Ces
The only difference seems to be that the original has 'Made in England' on the back, while the reissue states 'Made in EU'. The stuff about the sticker being exclusive to the reissue is rubbish - it's removable on both issues.
Nidor
I can't compare the internal artwork, but the front and back cover of the 2011 release are identical.
Kigabar
I bought the 2011 repress from bleep.com and it still came with a free poster, gatefold sleeve, yellow inner sleeves, etc.
Spilberg
no difference

When Battles' debut, MIRRORED, comes on with the frenzy of drums of "Race: In" (quickly augmented by a twitchy guitar and some whistling), you know you're in for something new. Though you could classify them under the vague, amorphous term of 'post rock,' they forge their own direction with their careful instrumentation and tighter song structure than is ordinarily associated with 'post rock.' "Atlas," for instance, has a real swagger to it, something you'd stick your hips out to. "Tonto," on the other hand, is looser, but still with a forward drive, while "Rainbows" revels in its dissonances and its januty mid-section, culminating with a bold vocal finish. "Snare Hangar" takes a severely syncopated rhythm and offsets it with playful vocal piping. The final track, "Race: Out," adds some looped strings into the mix, as well as those thundering drums. A album, definitely, to reflect upon.
