Kiaile
Excellent bootleg LP issued in 1988, featuring the Heldon duo of Richard Pinhas and Alain Renaud. A single 41:18 long concert piece (with a slight overlap between sides A and B) it is daring pure innovation with a few earlier Heldon themes and references to Alain Renaud's own opus "Back And In" ending with an almighty guitar freak-out.The only problem with this though is that it was pressed too quiet, cramming 29+ mins on side A was not such a good idea, and the pressings weren't great quality. By the way, as far as I can work out this was pressed by one of two possible Los Angeles pressing plants (where a lot of bootleg pressings came from apparently, and also used by such labels as LAFMS, etc). Some collectors notes: This 1975 recording originally appeared as one side of a C90 cassette called "Cocaine Blues". Only Side A of the LP features on the Captain Trip CD "Live Electronik Guerilla". The 12 minute crescendo and freak-out on side B is now a rarity. The third track (not Heldon at all, but a Pinhas solo track) can be found on the "Paris Tokyo" compilation, and also on DWW as "The Joe Chip Song (Quartet—Part 2)" (a slightly different mix I think).Incidentally, Richard Pinhas intimated that it was the release of this bootleg that actually stimulated him to get back into making music again, knowing that there was still interest in his old music!
