This lacked the quality of production that the previous album (Salute) had. The song writing is a little less direct and marked a change in composition that would see him through the remaining studio albums. More conversational and textured allowing a more atmospheric style of arrangement. It reflects a more mature approach to the troubadour style. The album plays well but it is not especially memorable. There are one or two slow burners on here though.
