This has got to be the most absurd and spastic record I've ever purchased. Still, in between all the flailing drill 'n bass mayhem, there are some really cool cross-genre experiments that are quite enjoyable. Most noteworthy is probably Otto's rhymes and lyrical tidbits, which combined with the wildly twitching production provides loads of tension and hilarity on tracks like "Earjuice Synthesis", "Laptops And Martinis" and "Whip Me Down". The ramshackle, moaning organ jams as well as the quirky electroid grooves are quite amusing too. It all makes the handful of random, senseless beat/noise onslaughts on this album a lot easier to forgive. All in all, Chopped Zombie Fungus makes for quite enjoyable and amusing listening for those who want to hear something completely different.
