No one should complian about a Stone's vinyl album being on 2 x LP's.. the tracks sound way better for being pressed this way. I'd have it on 6 sides if I had the choice. These boys keep me rockin'!

Technically, it should sound better if they handled it properly. Good to know, might go get this album on vinyl. Last stones double Album I bought was Exile on Mainstreet, I know this won't compare..but this looks like a nice collectable to have on vinyl.

Does this play at 45 speed? Otherwise it seems odd for such a short album to be on two discs.

It's not odd. It's called spacing out the grooves for better fidelity, it runs at 33.3. Disco records have done this since the 70s, taking up the entire side, sometimes at 33 sometimes at 45. If it ran at 45, I would have taken maybe 3 discs, and believe it or not, even higher fidelity when played at a faster speed, but you need more real estate. It's a good move to appeal to true audiophiles that enjoy vinyl .

It's not absurd from the standpoint of wanting better sound quality, which many new vinyl collectors are slowly starting to understand "Just cause it's on vinyl doesn't automatically make it superb" .. The more real estate audio takes up on vinyl, the better quality (in theory) it should be. They ponied up to offer a top end offering with a deluxe package such as this. If you want one disc, but the CD or DVD audio version. This is based on factual technical details.

Why is this on two LPs? It's long enough to fit on one. Also, the cat# should be 571 494-1 - the -4 suffix is usually used for cassettes.

I bought my copy new at Best Buy (California). It did _not_ have a download card as is stated in the European release. This U.S. release https://www.discogs.com/The-Rolling-Stones-Blue-Lonesome/release/9490011 does specifically state that the download card isn't included. It does say it was made in France. And with that, my fingers still singed from my first and last country of release debate, I bid adieu. Chris

I doubt it that an US pressed version of this record is produced. The MPO pressing from France is a world wide release.

I was a little apprehensive before listening to this, but I 'm pleasantly surprised. As the title suggests it's straight forward Blues covers; some people are complaining about the the sound quality, but I think they are just trying to produce a sound in keeping with the originals. It's slightly reminiscent of their debut, obviously they've lost a little of the energy they had back then, Jagger's voice isn't quite what it was, but that said it stands up fairly well, and man can he play the harmonica. Clapton's contribution is also very decent decent on the closer.

This album is a bullshit. Not bad musically, but 12 tracks, 43 minutes, 2 LPs for 28€.I hope that Rolling Stone live well !!!

Great to see they pressed this at MPO, Most Polydor stuff ends up at the GZ Media Wrecking plant! That said Its a very raw sounding record so it might not have mattered.. Great return to roots by the Stones, very reminiscent of there debut album.

I purchased the LP in France at FNAC stores, the sound is no bad and the LP was delivered with a download card, that I gave to my daughter (It's nice to see that the young generations like the Stones and the Blues, just like me when I was 15).

I like this record because I like the Blues and the Stones, but the lazy glimmer twins could have done a better job, they had plenty of time for it. They didn't want to miss the x-mas sales ? Recorded in 3 days ? I can believe it. I notice that Mick's voice limit / limit in some songs, he shouts too much. Anyway I listen to it every day and I like it better day after day. They got me at last.

They weren't even planning on putting this out. They were simply jamming and decided to record. With that being said at least they put something out! How many people do you know who could pull this off without overdubs or anything? It was recorded live in the studio!

Anyone have the dead wax info on this record? It seems like the "made in France" polydor issue is sold even in the us market.

I added deadwax information from my copy (bought in a Barnes & Noble store in Michigan). As you suspected, it is identical to the European vinyl etchings.

Sven, I got my Barnes&Noble order this week, a backorder from December 2nd and they are selling French copies too. But another Discogs seller informed me that he sold an US copy.....keep searching, Leo.

FYI, I picked up a copy of this version at Barnes & Noble yesterday. If you go online and do a search of stores, it seems like a lot still have this in stock. Even better, they put the wrong price sticker on it and I walked out of the store with this for $20+. I didn't even notice until I got home.

by Dead Wax is meant the run-off grooves in the vinyl ,the space between the last song and the labels. This information is sometimes scratched or printed and tells all about the pressing.

I don't know what is dead wax, but I can confirm that the LP I purchased in France is "Made in France" by Polydor.BIEM/SDRM LC00309. 571494-4. Barcode= 00602557149449. The US produc has the same ref 571494-4
